For most musicians, performing in front of a lively, enthusiastic audience is the dream. For others, it’s the thrill of playing alongside one of your favourite bands. Then there are some that are lucky enough to experience both.
For sometime the committee that cares for the library building and its surrounds in Murrumbateman have been concerned at the state of the elderly pine trees planted on the grounds, which locals believe could have been there for over 100 years.
The weather was not as kind as the team at the Rollonin had hoped but the day was still a success. The Can Assist word spread and lots of money was raised which will affect so many local families. Next year will be bigger and better with some sunshine.
Val was born in Gundagai on July 6 1927 to Hilda and William (Bill) Ballard and was the baby of seven children. Lesley, Ken, Wal, Thelma and Joan whom are all deceased and George who is here with us today.
