The Yass District Education Foundation (YDEF) recently held an awards presentation evening to congratulate its 2012 scholarship recipients.
Fifteen students from the Yass district have been awarded scholarships to assist them with their tertiary studies this year.
The students will be studying a wide variety of fields including horse husbandry, light vehicle mechanics, marine biology, medicine, plumbing, psychology, engineering and environmental science.
Rowena Abbey, president of YDEF, explained to the students and their families how the foundation works and thanked the many generous sponsors who were present. Without their support the foundation would not be in a position to assist as many students as it has.
