Organisers are confident Saturday’s rodeo will again lure spectators through the gates.
The rodeo, which was originally scheduled to begin at 2pm but will now kick-off at 4, will start with a team calf roping competition and conclude with a bull riding finale under lights.
With weather expected to be in the low 30s on Saturday, committee chairman Richard Buckmaster said he was hopeful rodeo enthusiasts and families alike would take the opportunity to watch local and visiting competitors attempt to outsmart well trained stock.
“We’ve always had good support for the rodeo and there’s no reason why that shouldn’t continue,” Richard said. “We’ve again got high quality stock, in particular the bulls from George and Richard Hempenstall, and with the pinnacle of event being the bull riding final under lights, I’m confident locals will turn out in numbers.”
Saturday’s competition could be crucial to the Southern Zone’s rodeo standings. Cowboys across the district will be expected to use to the Yass meet as a chance to boost their profile and climb a few rungs on the rodeo pecking order.
Saturday’s action will kick-off at 4pm and is expected to wind up at around 10 o’clock. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children, $50 for a family (two adults, two children) and kids under five free.
