After four solid rounds of championship golf during the previous two weekends it was pretty obvious there were lots of IOUs called in by the ladies of the households this past weekend.
Only 41 players fronted up on Saturday and on a beautiful Sunday there were only the 15 lonely souls. Please understand the boys don’t actually like being humiliated by that little white ball – they only do it for the sake of the old Club and someone has to use the beautiful piece of parkland.
So come on. Please girls loosen the ties a little bit and you fellas just do the rest. Break free and run to the golf course because this Saturday the Bob Rogers Clothing Co puts up the loot for that so desired monthly prize, “The Guzzlers Mug”.
There was a special piece of good news for our bachelor boy Captain Neville Matthews – he is now officially the ACT Monaro District Golf Association District Stableford Master Champion. How good is that and how did he do it you may ask!
During last year, events were conducted throughout the district and Graham Fleming, Mark Barrie, Bob Johnson and our Captain Nev qualified to play in the district final at Belconnen last Sunday. Now you get the picture. Nev produced 39pts at the Belconnen layout and brought the title home to Yass. Well done esteemed Captain!
