For three rounds during the year the three person ambrose teams sought to qualify for the big end of year final.
Nine of the ten qualifiers were able to field their teams and best of the nine was the classy combination of Robert Field, David Field and Russell Watchorn with their 58-6-52 winning score.
In second spot was the team of Wayne Wilson, Blake Partridge and Wayne Vickery and next best were Mal Marshall, Barnie Greig and Les Cox.
Nearest the pins went to B Partridge, S Kelly and M Garland. A big thank you to sponsor Retravision and to all the golfers who participated.
The main golf talking point continues to be the amazingly high scores being recorded. Last Sunday 41pts did not win a ball and on the Saturday 38pts failed to do so.
The startling transition from moist fairways to run-a-mile dry fairways has been rapid and dramatic and in many cases second shots on par fours have been reduced to chips or putts for the longer hitters. The CCR will not come below 65 and there will be many cases of members not winning even a golf ball while losing a full shot off their handicaps. Such justice is kangaroo court fair!
One Michael Fish reinstated his membership and immediately recorded 48pts to win Saturday B Grade. On the other side of the coin his handicap dropped from 24 to 16 on that very same day. Barry Topple continues to impress for the third week in a row. His 44pts only picked up a ball this time.
Club Captain Neville Matthews has really taken the business of improving his golf ultra seriously and recorded a whopping 46pts on Sunday to pick up another victory.
