Run by Australian Red Cross, ‘RediPlan prepares Yass’ is designed to assist the senior citizens of Yass and people living with disabilities prepare for an emergency.
Members of the State Emergency Service and the Rural Fire Brigade were on hand to share their knowledge.
REDIPlan is centred on four key steps: be informed, make an emergency plan, have an emergency kit and know your neighbour.
Those at the seminar also took part in interactive sessions, listened to real stories, viewed suitable items for an emergency kit and found out about Telecross and TeleCHAT.
For more information on these services phone Yass emergency services team leader Noelene Hazell on 6227 7202.
