Round three of the Weston Shield featured a thrilling finish between top of the table teams the Sixes and the Stars.

The Sixes batted first and, thanks largely to 24 from Daniel Kemp, was able to notch 8/68. The Stars shared the wickets around. In response the Stars fell just short reaching 8/65 off their overs. Toby Nolan and David Twohill scored 25 and nine for the Stars respectively. For the sixes, Tyler Waters was devastating taking 4/0. Bailey Timmer was also in the mix wicket-keeping. He snared three catches.
In the second match, Strikers defeated the Heat in what turned out to be a close match as well. The Strikers scored 75 from its innings, with Flynn Buffington playing particularly well. Bailey Haskins bowled well for the Heat and claimed three wickets. In response the Heat could only manage 69, with Toby Callaughan and Haskins batting well. Connor Medway performed strongly with the ball for the Strikers.
This weekend the Strikers play the Sixes at O’Connor Park and the Heat come up against the Thunder at John Allen Oval. The Stars outfit has the bye.
