After the team’s event was decided, the top 15 scorers that were available for the day took back to the course for a nine-hole shoot out, with players being eliminated each hole until a winner was decided. Daniel Poidevin beat Billy Scheffler on the last hole.
The Turners Nursery Mixed Foursomes was held on Sunday, with a good field of 20 pairs. Our sponsor, Paul Turner, won with his partner Jan Minahan (60 nett), comfortably from nearest rivals Phil White and Michele Winter, who finished with a 63 nett. Dad’s Army November 15
Fourteen of the Dad's Army troops faced the starter on what turned out to be a very fine morning for golf. Conditions were very good with quite a bit of run on the fairways which must have suited Rod ‘Plucker’ Perceval who turned in a card with 20 points to take out the money from Graham Howlett, Ken Reidy and Jack Wales, with 19 points each and Doug Oldfield with 18 points collected the balls on offer. Quite a range in the scoring this week from 20 down to nine points. Dad's Army picked up three points in the Business House competition last week to give them a total of 16, while this week they put together 124.5.
