The Golf Club won the toss and went in against a Buffaloes side that is stranded in last place on the table. The Piranhas notched 194 off their allotted overs and were aided by a 72 from David Brown and a 56 by the competition’s leading run-scorer, Daniel Poidevin.
Lachlan O’Mara was the pick of the bowlers for Bowning, taking three wickets.
Bowning started its innings well and Leigh French was able to pass 30 in his stint at the crease. But, Daniel Poidevin again made his presence felt, bagging a deadly five-wicket haul. In the end Bowning was rolled for 114 runs.
Piranhas captain Robert Field said he was particularly happy with the weekend’s performance.
“It was great, we played really well and everyone was happy. I think if we keep playing like that, we’ll be tough to beat.”
In the other Triggs Shield fixture in Dalton, the Soldiers Club was too good for an under-done Pirates side. The Pirates had seven first-string players away and batted first but could only manage 73. Brendan Foran managed 13 not-out. For the Soldiers Club, Ryan Betts was best with the ball, taking three for 16.
In response the Snipers chased the total with ease and David Field stood out, getting 27 not-out. Chris Rawlinson also went well with the bat, also finishing unbeaten on 18.

Dalton paid a visit to Murrumbateman on Saturday but fell short against Murrumbateman 1. The Dingoes were trounced by a good bowling performance by the hosts and were all out for just 114 runs.
Murrumbateman 1 had no trouble chasing the runs, reaching the target in just the 23rd over. James Bray got a quick-fire 40 for the locals and Steve Callaghan carried his bat with a 42 not-out. Murrumbateman 1 had seven wickets in hand.
In the top-of-the-table clash between Bookham and Gundaroo, it was the former which won the toss and batted first.
The hosts amassed 209 runs off their overs, with both David Bonnette (55) and David Hazell (51) registering half centuries.
“It was a good result for us,” Hazell told the Tribune.
“Everything’s going well for us, we bowled and fielded particularly well.”
Once Gundaroo got a chance at the crease, the players could only manage 145 before they were all out. Clint Harvey performed particularly well with the bat while Chris Connor had no such luck in the field, dropping three catches.
“Bookham played well and they deserved the win,” Gundaroo captain Scott Harding said.
“They batted strongly but we should have been a lot better with our bowling.”
In the other game, Murrumbateman 2 lost easily to the Aussie Horns.
