In safe hands

Yass SES has a new man in charge.

Bob Buffington has been part of SES for some time and when the job of controller became vacant, he jumped in.

“The Yass SES has been so good to me,” he said.

“So when the position of controller became free I just put my hand up.

“It’s a position where you can really make a difference and I think I am doing that.”

Mr Buffington said that in regards to emergency services Yass was safe and was definitely in good shape.

“With our team I can safely say that the Yass community is in good hands in this department.”

Mr Buffington said he does miss some of the hands-on work but he sees the job as a privilege and is more than happy to fill the void.

“It is a real honour to be the controller of such a good, hard-working team,” he said.

“While it is more paperwork, and I am in the office more, I am still able to get out now and again and I enjoy that a lot.”

He said having the responsibilities and keeping members safe is really rewarding when it is done properly.

Yass SES can be contacted on 13 25 00.
