Rural Fire Services spokesman Peter Dyce told the Yass Tribune fire activity was expected in that area, but that it was still within containment lines.
He said there was no concern or immediate threat of evacuation for people in the Yass township.
The Cobbler's Road fire was still burning out of control 11 kilometres west of Yass at midday today.
Fire crews were undertaking property protection along Childowla Road as the fire spread through this area.
Residents and landowners in the Ferndale, Sunnyside, Spring Vale, Wattle Valley, Yowerweema, Katandee, Euralia and Billa Burra Burra areas are being advised that the fire may impact within the next two to six hours.
The RFS also said there was a rural property on Glenroy Road that was under threat, fire fighters believing it may come in contact with fire.
The townships of Yass and Bowning are not being impacted currently, however smoke
from this fire is blanketing the town.
Mr Dyce said residents and landowners could expect to see fire activity in the Yass River Devil's Pass area.

The fire remains within containment lines.
He said if the fire does break containment lines, residents would be notified via SMS messages. Black Range Road is not being evacuated but protection is being put in place.
