Youth sharing culture

Yass youth had the chance to showcase their traditional Aboriginal dance skills last Thursday when a group dropped in to visit.

The group, from the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Studies (AIATSIS), and a delegation from South Australia came to see the Ngunnawal community lead the way in incorporating dance, culture, language and respect.

Last year indigenous and non-indigenous children from Yass schools learned traditional dance and culture, and that program will continue this year.
