The boys took to the paddock with only 12 players and no reserves. For the first 10 minutes the Rams didn't even touch the ball with Marist having full control, but our forwards put up their best fight. At half-time the Rams were down 22-0.
Coach Ian gave them an inspiring talk at half time and the boys came out blazing with Thomas Carey scoring their only try, to put the Rams on the board. Marist still kept attacking but our boys defended until that final whistle.
The final score was 22-5. Most of the players in this team have been undefeated for the last five years. The boys handled their loss very gracefully.
The team is made up of George Walker (c), Thomas Carey, Andrew MacFarlane, Shaun Harris, Hunter Gillies, Rory Walsh, Angus Barber, Darcey Bush, Charlie Crozier, Sam Pack, Jarome McGrath, Sam Clark and Patrick McPhillips.
Thank you to our sponsors Bush's Bush Charter, Wayne & Sue Witt local Elgas Contractors and Kalari Border Leicesters. Thank you also to Brett Bush for taking our boys over on his bus and giving them the VIP Service (they thought they were the Wallabies).
And a huge thank you to our coaches for the last five years Ian MacFarlane and Chris Harris.
Well done Rams!
