Ms Hodgkinson's current seat of Burrinjuck will no longer exist in the new boundaries, with most of that area being pushed into a new seat of Cootamundra.
She announced last week she would stand for preselection in Goulburn; party members will decide the preselection on March 14.
Emergency meetings have been held between the two parties, to avoid a head-on collision over Goulburn.
Hume Liberal MP Angus Taylor entered the fray this week, saying he doesn't believe it will come to a three-cornered contest.
"Wisdom will prevail," he predicted.
