The last few years have been very difficult for golf clubs not only in the bush but also in the cities. Playing numbers are at best static and in some cases they are falling. The Board has, in the last 12 months, taken a number of steps to improve finances including the appointment of a new manager, Nathan Philpott, and greenkeeper, Mark Holt. Both are doing a fantastic job and the course has never looked better. The club is also very fortunate to have the services of Kirk Davis in the Pro Shop. Despite this, revenues are barely sufficient to maintain and improve facilities and replace aging plants and equipment.
To alleviate the situation the Board has decided to conduct a major raffle.
First prize:Toyota Yaris manual five door hatch supplied by Luff Motors at a generous discount and valued at $20,000.
Second prize: set of Ping golf clubs donated by Kirk Davis, the club pro valued at $1,800.
Third prize: one year gold membership at the Club valued at $1,000.
Fourth prize:$200 Club bar voucher.
Fifth prize:200 Club bar voucher.
A maximum of 500 tickets will be sold at a cost of $100 each.
Yass Golf Club is a wonderful facility and a very important part of the Yass community.
The picturesque course is not only an enjoyable experience but a great test of golf, and it attracts golfers from all over NSW and the ACT.
First class meals are available from the bistro, "Vista on the Green", and our chef Dean also caters for functions at the club.
The Board asks the Yass community to support the club by purchasing a ticket in the raffle as an individual or in a syndicate.

A fundraising golf day and cocktail party to promote the raffle and raise additional funds will be held at the club on Saturday May 12.
