PeeWee football
Yass Football Club’s first ever PeeWee football took place on Saturday morning.
First up was a skills session rotating through three stations. Players were then split into teams to play a short game.
From the looks on the children's faces it appeared that they all had fun.
Thank-you to all parents and helpers on the day and see you all bright and early Saturday morning.
More photos of the day are also displayed on the YassFC website as well as the Yass Football Club’s Facebook page.

Under 8s
The under 8s bravely met with the under 9s this weekend to play their first match together on the big field.
Although the score went the under 9s way our players showed that we will be a talented team. Hayley Davis kept up with the opposition, John Franklin had a ripper second half on the ball, while James Gray kept it strong in defence. Xavier Makin showed his excellent ball skills to the opposition while Ewan McAleer kept up with the action to fight for the ball.
Alex Schofield, Cooper Thornely, Edward Field-Wilson and Luke Donovan all had great games as well.
The under 8s will take on the under9s once again next weekend to hopefully narrow the margin, before they take on teams from their own age group in Canberra.
Under 10s
The Yass Redback under 10s team played its first game at home this week, coming away with a very convincing 7-0 win. The team has a few new players this year and they have all worked very hard to prepare for the season The team gelled well, passing the ball around and talking and encouraging each other. Well done to all players.
Under 15s
The Yass Soldiers Club sponsored under 15s hosted Belsouth in their first match of the season on Saturday. Although beaten 4-2 they were far from disgraced and it was a very pleasing effort first up.
After going into the break at 1-1 and then brieflly taking the lead 2-1 early in the second, the Redbacks defence finally succumbed to Belsouth's relentless attack.
Yass' first goal was scored by Brendon Scanes after he received a pass from Brody Anderson, and the Redbacks second goal came after Richard Alley put a ball through to Brendon who crossed for Robby Furner to get a nice touch to score.
Yass' standout player was Hayden Starr, who was sensational in defence, but was well supported by Tim Hazell, Sam Young and Lauren Malan. New recruits Matt Pilbrow and Brody Anderson also played well.
Under 15s girls
The under 15s girls travelled to Dickson to play Majura for their first game this week and they came away with a 9-1 win. The whole team gave a strong performance with our new players fitting in well. Goals scored this week were from Kate Boulton, Annie Hill, Lucy Bucknell, Shannon Wright and Maddison Douven.
Under 18s
The under 18s kicked of its 2012 season with a loss at home this weekend after coming up against a well drilled Brindabella side.
The newly formed side only had 10 players at the weekend and, despite work on quick ball movement during the week, the opposition was too strong.
In what was a promising sign some time on the ball did lead to a nice team combination that eventually resulted in a goal.
Special mention must go to Liam McKenzie, who saved some very good shots to keep his team in the running for a while. Brent Hickey and Stephen Boulton also worked hard in the midfield and gave good service to the mid-field.
Well done boys. It was good to see that even in defeat you didn’t stop until the final whistle sounded.
