With the poor weather of the last few weekends, the Yass Golf Club course has been rather quiet.
Players preferred to spend the time in front of the heater. Who can blame them?
But then there are always the players who take to the course whatever the conditions.
On Saturday we had 21 players take on the rain, with Greg Weir on 40 points and Bill Mackay on 39 points coming in with impressive scores for the conditions.
Sunday was mildly better, with Wilbur Whyte coming in with a 66 Nett and Tim Kelly a 77 Gross.
The previous weekend wasn’t a lot better weather wise but Rob Field, John Brady and Joe Cooke managed to take the prises in the qualifying for the NSW 4BBB Championship.
Qualifying for the playoffs in championships were: R Field, J Brady 49, N Napper, R Johnson 44, M Curtis and D Douglas 42 points.
This weekend we have the Springbank two Person Medley Ambrose, so grab a partner and test the elements and your skills.
The course is currently looking a million dollars and the greens playing slick.

Nett winner: Wilbur Whyte 73-7-66. Gross winner: Tim Kelly 77. Ball competition: W Whyte 66, T Kelly 67, N Matthews 69, W Wilson 70 and M Walker 71 Nett. The super pin went to Tim Smith on the 16th.
Dads Army Thursday June 14
A big field of 18 troops took to the fairways in the Dad's Army competition on what turned out to be a great day for golf.
Jack Wales liked the going and turned in a card with 20 points on it to take out the big money.
Meanwhile John Bewick and Clive Phillips, with 18 points, and Peter Anderson and Wilbur Whyte, with 17 points, collected all the balls on offer for this week.
The scoring ranged from 20 down to five points. Good golfing ‘boys’ until next week.

Winners: Mick Arnold (19) 22 points. Runner up: Edgar Mongan 21 points. Balls went to D Douglas 20, W Whyte 20, J Wales 20, D Kemp 20, M Coggan 19, K Mann 19, B Puckett 19, M Curtis 18, B Brooker 18 and G Howlett 18 points.
