UPDATE:
11.45am: BOM has cancelled its severe weather warning for the region but a sheep graziers warning remains in place.
Graziers are warned that cold temperatures, showers and northwesterly winds are expected during Friday. Areas likely to be affected include the Australian Capital Territory, Northern Tablelands, Riverina, Lower Western, South West Slopes, Snowy Mountains, North West Slopes & Plains, Southern Tablelands and Central Tablelands forecast districts and parts of the Central West Slopes & Plains and Hunter forecast districts. There is a high risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

Increasing northwesterly winds ahead of a cold front expected to move through the state today, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
Damaging winds are currently occurring over elevated parts of the Snowy Mountains forecast district.
Damaging winds are forecast to extend to lower elevations in the Snowy Mountains district, and to southern parts of the Southern Tablelands and Illawarra districts and to northern parts of the South Coast forecast district. Peak wind gusts in these areas may exceed 90 km/h, with gusts over 120 km/h likely over the Alpine peaks.
Yass isn't on the list of towns to be worts affected. The worst hit should include Thredbo, Perisher, Bombala, Nowra, Batemans Bay, Moruya and Braidwood.

Severe weather warning for damaging winds and blizzard conditions for people in the South Coast, Illawarra, Southern Tablelands and Snowy Mountains forecast districts.

Damaging winds are currently occurring over elevated parts of the Snowy Mountains forecast district. Overnight damaging winds are forecast to extend to lower elevations in the Snowy Mountains district, and to southern parts of the Southern Tablelands and Illawarra districts and to northern parts of the South Coast forecast district.
Peak wind gusts in these areas may exceed 90 km/hr, with gusts over 120 km/hr likely over the Alpine peaks.
Locations which may be affected include Thredbo, Perisher, Bombala, Nowra, Batemans Bay, and Braidwood.
Blizzard conditions are forecast for the Snowy Mountains forecast district.
Thredbo AWS reported average wind speed of 102 km/h and 119 km/h gust at 10:30 am on Thursday.
Perisher Valley AWS reported 94 km/h gust at 10:30 pm on Wednesday.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
* Keep clear of fallen power lines.
