The Magpies played Goulburn in what was a non-competitive match.
The team was extremely excited and onlookers reported that it was great to see every player getting into the action.
New recruit Billy Walls had a great game backed up by the rest of the team: Darcey Bush, Charlie Beck, Sam Pack, Braith Ironside, Riley Glover, Clancy Shannon, Joe Hewett, Jamie Howlett, Ben Bingley, and Liam Newman.
Yass was eventually beaten by the superior Goulburn side in the pre-game match but they stepped it up a gear in the half-time orange and spoon relay race.
It was neck and neck right up to the finish but Jamie managed to devour the banana in record time to delight of the crowd and take out first place.
Coach Jason is looking forward to seeing everyone at training on Thursday night.
The competition resumes on Sunday against the Gungahlin Bulls at Nicholls.
