It seems as though the kids just went back to school but holidays have commenced again and they remain free until Tuesday April 29 when school will resume once more.

The staff will return one day earlier to attend the Staff Development Day to be held at the Jugiong School.
The arborist is to attend the school during the holidays or soon after to examine the trees in the playground. This is managed by the Wagga Asset Management Unit with the school having no input at all as to whether the tree is dangerous or not.
Star winners for the last week of term were Olivia McColl, Kaitlyn Daly and Henry McColl.
Tree fate
It seems there was some input by the public on the fate of the tree in the Memorial Garden. Despite the council deciding that the tree should be removed and most of the public agreeing with that decision, the tree remains.
The man to do the task even arrived in town ready to go but nothing happened. Many locals had hoped the tree would be removed prior to the Anzac Day Service as no one can predict when a limb will fall. Several limbs have fallen over the last few years, including one at Christmas time which damaged a lot of the Christmas lighting.
There are many dangerous trees and limbs of trees hanging over the Boorowa road just waiting for an accident to happpen.
Despite numerous talks with council members the best they seem to be able to do is "Make a note of that".
Rugby league honours
Congratulations to Jake Arabin who is continuing his athletic career and is training hard for the under 15 Riverina Rugby League team which will play at West Belconnen on May 8. A win for them would be great.
Sad news
I have just been told that sadly, two local men have passed away. Michael Boddy, well known far afield for his years of journalism and writing, has lost the battle to regain his health as has one of the Groom boys, son of Jacqui and the late Dal Groom. We offer sympathy to their families.
Golf and bowls news
John and Norma Blair donated the trophies on Sunday for the golf and bowls. Nine holes of golf were played and then nine ends of bowls. Actually it was 10 so we didn't have to kick the bowls from the other end. John Lee and Clancy Grigg won the Canadian foursome while Joe Dyball took time off from polishing his car to win the nine holes stroke event.
Not much skill was demonstrated in the bowls but there were some new styles shown and lots of competitive spirit emerged. The winners were the more serious and skilled combination of John Stadtmiller and his partner Graham. Graham was in town to visit his friend Peter Stadtmiller who is still battling his illness.
Thank you to Norma and John for once again making trophies available.
Vandalism
It appears there has been a bit of vandalism around town so it is prudent to keep an eye out for suspicious behaviour.
Caravan stolen
Last week a caravan with a for sale sticker on it was stolen some time through the hours of darkness. Fancy anyone having the nerve to hitch up a fairly large van and tow it away! I wonder how the thieves could be certain that no one was in it or that no one would see them tow it away? The mind boggles at the audacity of those responsible. I believe the police have said that there is very little chance of it being found.
Happy and Safe Easter to everyone (don't eat too much chocolate! But then, what is too much chocolate?)
Until next time.
