Maureen Hall and Enid Brooker were the runners up. Margaret and Jess have been a formidable team over the years and have won this championship on multiple occasions.
In the week leading up to the final Margaret and Jess also had convincing wins against Marion Darmody and Catherine Hunt as well as Helen MacArthur and Sue Bush.
Our weekend pennant side played their last round recently and finished with a nail biting win against Belconnen. Helen MacArthur, Margaret Callaughan, Tracey Thomas and Jess Keith had a hard game and only took the lead by a shot on the 12th end. They managed to hang on with a final score of 25-24.
Anne Maree Bruce, Kylie Besgrove, Linda Scott and Sue Bush had a really bad start and by the 12th end they were down 4-14. The next end they picked up a 3 and then another 3, that was the turn-around for them and they ended up winning 20-17.
Overall, our pennant side are sitting in third position behind Queanbeyan and Weston Creek. The semi-finals and final will be held on the May 3 and 4, with the venue still to be announced.
In the social games Margaret Callaughan and Janice Harmer beat Marion Darmody and Bernice Davis 17-12, and Lorraine Cooke and Elsie Shaw had 16-all draw with Phyllis Knox and Lois Macgregor.
The monthly birthday lunch will be held on tomorrow at the Yass Golf Club.
