Redfin biting

The Redfin have been a popular catch recently.

I spoke to couple of fishermen who reported 36 redfin caught off the bank two weeks ago and were returning for some more action.

Later that day they had several in the bag. I was told the biggest were up around 40 centimetres.

Worms were the bait of choice and other fisherman reported big redfin caught on yabbies below cottage 18. I had no boating reports, although they have been picking a few fish up on the troll.

Yellow belly: the occasional yellow belly has been caught on the troll, a yellow/green no three stump jumper near the bluff accounted for a 40cm fish. Most of the reports for the weekend were from shore based fisherman in the park. A 50cm yellow belly was the biggest taken on a yabby. Both yabbies and worms were producing well from the bank.

Carp: some big fish were caught over the weekend. Most were caught by worms from the bank or in the shallower bays.

Park news: an additional six powered sites will be available once the grass grows. Anyone who was not able to book a site in the past for Christmas holidays or Easter may want to get in quick.
