Well it has been four years and two months since the last entry was written in the 'competition book'. But finally the long haul and persistence has paid off, with the Yass Clay Target Club opening its doors - or should I say 'trap houses' at its new site 'Stony Creek' Bookham on June 15.

It was an extremely cold and windy day but this did not deter 60 competitive shooters and nearly that number again in onlookers. They travelled from near and far. We had lots of locals and then others drove from places like Sydney, Bathurst, Cowra, Wagga Wagga, Moss Vale, Canberra, Goulburn and Cooma.
The Bookham Red Cross ladies kept everyone fed with their wonderful fare and the fire in the club house was cosy and welcoming.
The competition was a 90 target point score.
Overall winner: George Poulios (Sydney) with a score of 141/150.
Equal 1st AA: Glenn Barton (Yass) and Nick Xenos (Sydney) 140/150.
1st A: Justin Smith (Boorowa) 131/151.
2nd A: Ben Young 130/151.
1st B: Jenny Twarloh (Moss Vale) 121/150.
2nd B: James Jonklass (Canberra) 119/150.
1st C: Nick Gleeson 123/150.
2nd C: Ken Michie (Goulburn) 107/150.
We are looking forward to our second competition day this Sunday July 20 starting at 10am.
All are welcome and hopefully we can put some sunshine into the mix. 'See you round the traps'.
