The Premium Building Solutions under 7 Blacks is made up of a team of first year rugby players. The team is coached by ex-Rams Matt Merriman and Ben Ryan. The main objective at this age is learning to pass and run forward. This little team has improved every week, along with having fun along the way. The team includes - Angus Pack, Hugh Merriman, Rory Arneman, George Locke, Abbie Walls, Jeremy Bremner and Johah Allen.
Under 7 Whites
The Premium Building Solutions under 7 Whites have started their season off well. Under the coaches' wings of Josh Faulkner and Paul Hopwood, this team has also come a long way each week. They are perfecting the two handed tag along with passing skills. The team includes - Owen Hopwood, Seth Faulkner, Baxter Sicily, Phoebe Cooke, Declan Cooke, Dharrell Smith and Grayson Durant.
Under 8s
The Yass Valley Property under 8s have started the season well. This year they are learning to tackle, and under the guidance of coach "Bucket" Ritchard the team has really showed that they are strong with their defensive and tackling skills. Each week the team continues to improve, and are becoming tough competitors. We wish them all the best for the remainder of the season. The team includes - Clancy Ritchard, Poppy Ritchard, Charles Barber, Hamish Walker, Oscar Allan, Sam Glover, Owen Hughes, Tom Tristchler, Henry McColl and Justin Cooper.
Under 9s
The HRG under 9s 2014 season had a slow but steady start. The boys were still hanging on the high from 2013's undefeated glory. The forwards at the beginning found it difficult controlling the ball in the ruck and getting the ball out to their backs.
In turn, the backs soon learned that forward running was the only way to score tries.
Through hard work they have turned the second half of the season around and now sit third on the ladder.
In the last couple of games they have had some comprehensive wins due to their strong defensive plays and consistent teamwork.
The forwards set the platform dominating the ruck and maul. The backs then had the room they needed to show some fantastic running skills and footwork.
If the boys continue playing the type of rugby displayed in recent games it should see them reach the finals. They are all showing consistent effort, awesome teamwork and are all loving their rugby!
Under 10s
The Premium Building Solutions under 10 Rams go into the second half of the season with their finals aspirations tightly balanced following a disappointing loss in the last round before the break. On the back of a run of several fine displays, with the competition now split into three grades, the Rams credibly find themselves in Division 2. They are now fighting against some tough teams and need to win at least three of their last four games to make the finals. However, after getting much of the travel out of the way early on with trips to Batemans Bay and Jindabyne, a run of home games to finish the season means Yass is well positioned.
Under 12s
The Southern Cable Services under 12s have had a great start to the 2014 season with some truly inspiring wins. Being a mix of both under 11s and 12s, the boys have shown they are more than strong enough to be fierce competition. Under the direction of our coaching staff of Dave Garland and Chris Harris, the forward pack has been working well to drive our team and the backline have been showing plenty of finesse. They are currently in third place in Division 2 and are looking forward to the second half of the season. There is no doubt they are finals contenders.
