Central Victoria's athletes stood alongside thousands of competitors from across the Commonwealth in a stunning opening ceremony at Glasgow's Celtic Park.
Bendigo mountain bike star Peta Mullens had her photo taken with Australian flag bearer Anna Meares.
"So proud to march with the very first female cycling flag bearer annameares ! Let the Games begin :),'' Mullens tweeted.
The Australian netball team, including Bendigo's Caitlin Thwaites and Kerang's Julie Corletto, lapped up the atmopshere.
"WOW that was such an amazing experience!!! Loved every minute of it!,'' Corletto tweeted.
Hours before they ride in the team pursuit, Glenn O'Shea marched with the Australian track cycling endurance team.
Bendigo badminton aces Glenn Warfe and Jeff Tho joined forces.
It was Warfe's third Commownealth Games opening ceremony, while it was Tho's first.
Geoff Grenfell and Emma Cox marched alongside the Australian shooting squad, while hammer thrower Tim Driesen stood out with the Australian athletics crew.
