Local: As a member of the Sustainability Committee, I find the Councils remarks on various Committees amazing, given that we are all volunteers, do we need these committees? Yes we do!!

Do we need people who give up their free time to sit on these committees? Yes we do!
Words beggar belief. Having one councillor describe those committees how he did, the Sustainability plan that has been on show at council is a direct result of what the committee did, as well support Clean up Australia Day to name one. Politics aside, Jasmin Jones and Geoff Frost, both have given up their time to support both various committees and Clean up Australia and they need the support of Council. They need to be applauded, not kicked in the teeth. Maybe the Greens should stand for the local elections in 2016, anyone interested.
State: Iain Fyfe is standing as the Greens candidate for the seat of Goulburn. Iain will be in Sutton on August 3 at a Burrinjuck Greens meeting. Members of the public are welcome to contact Iain for a chat. Pru Goward is the sitting Liberal member and minister. Labour is yet to-select, but I believe is in the process.
The Burrinjuck Greens are calling for nominations for someone to stand in the seat of Cootamundra.
Federal: What a huge step backwards this country has taken in repealing the carbon tax, what a huge step into an abyss with no coming back, what a mistake. Angus Taylor might purport to say they had a mandate, more like brainwashing, hostile media and buckets of money, to name just a few.
One hundred years ago it was black death, they sent coal miners down holes in little more than a pair of shorts and singlets, boots and a pick axe, 50 years later they are coughing their lungs up, it was black death then and it is black death now, we must move away from coal to renewable energy sources.
Old Indian saying is “Hello mate, when it is all gone, no more meat pies, or chips, you can not eat a dollar bill”.
What future do you want? Do we all go out and buy V-8s, burn as much fuel as possible, and when it is all gone, then the penny might drop, and we have to do something, the time for action is now, tomorrow is too late.
Abbott, Liberal Government, Public Service cuts, single mothers, boat people, old age, the list just goes on and on and on and on, to a two class society. Liberal government does not understand the words “Social Conscious”, no idea at all.
