An Australian father of twins born to a surrogate mother in Thailand has reportedly been charged with allegedly sexually abusing them, in the latest scandal to hit the controversial industry.

The Sydney man is facing charges in New South Wales of indecent dealings of a sexual nature while the two children were under 10 years old, the ABC reported.
Citing court documents, the ABC reported the man has also been charged with possessing child-abuse material, which was uncovered after a raid on his home.
The twins were born to Thai surrogate Siriwan Nitichad, who also donated the eggs for the pregnancy.
Ms Nitichad told the ABC that the man and his now ex-wife paid her about $5500 for the surrogacy, which was carried out several years ago.
The father will face court later this year, while the twins are in the care of the man's ex-wife, the ABC reported.
The revelations follow the Baby Gammy saga, in which a baby boy with Down syndrome was left behind in Thailand by his Australian parents, who took home his twin sister.
