The arts practitioners of the Yass Valley and beyond showed great support in creating artworks for the sale and the local community supported it in kind. About 150 'art investors' turned out on the cool September evening to bid for a $100 canvas that could be worth potentially much more.
Comedian Emo Parsonson MC'd the night with references to his own artistic past growing up in Wee Jasper and music was provided throughout the night by Troy, Sisley, Michael Green and Aidie Rutherford who put in an appearance on her way to performing at a Jazz Festival in Wagga.
Not all the artworks were sold and 'Secret Canvas' coordinator Al Phemister wants those who expressed dissappointment at not being able to attend Friday night's festivities, to know that the works will be on display on the stairwell walls of the Oddfellows' Arts Centre in Yass starting Thursday. He would also suggest that some very 'investable' artworks are still amongst them.
