Garry, a baritone of operal fame, commonly referred to as 'the local boy that made good' was visiting Yass as the guest entertainer for the annual 'Daffodil Tea' at St Clements hall, which proved successful.
Garry came to the station armed with a CD that included many of his favourite songs that were sung at the Daffodil Tea which benefited many listeners, including those who couldn't make the tea.
Judy Pinder is currently co-ordinating, along with her committee, the Turning Wave Festival which is on for the third year in Yass this weekend.
Promising to be the most successful to date, numerous venues in Yass will be reverberating with Celtic music, song and dance as the visitors pour in, the motels fill up and the parks and the town become a festival of Celtic celebration.
