Once again Philip Armour shows he suffers from 'foot in mouth disease' and you give him space in the paper to print his rubbish!
If he thinks our Prime Minister is a "coward" (using his term) for not declaring war on Russia - what would HE do? We should be grateful he is not in proper politics, or we would soon be speaking Russian (if we survive).
He seems so anti-Abbott that he writes before he thinks! It seems that, as far as he is concerned, we are instead currently at war with ISIS and Muslims because of Tony Abbott.
Fact 1: We, and other countries, spoke out against the Russian Separatist shooting down of the airliner.
Fact 2: We, and other countries, imposed sanctions on Russia for failing to provide safe access for international investigators (including the AFP) to the crash site.
Fact 3: We have eight F18 Fighters on standby in the UAE ready to respond if needed in Iraq (not Syria) and they will go in WITH Iraq's support.
Fact 4: These "psychopaths in the Middle-East" (again using his term) need to have their advances and terror activities slowed to give civilians a chance. We are there to provide aid and assistance to the civilians.
Fact 5: Only a handful of Australian Muslims support ISIS - the rest want them stopped and just want to get on with their lives not being hassled by misguided patriots.
Fact 6: You might think terrorism can't happen in Australia, but what about the fighters returning to Australia or their supporters? Sometimes a show of strength is needed to ensure our protection from radical influences.
If we must have Philip Armour's biased rantings in the paper, please try to make sure they have some factual basis before you accept them for print.
Murray Squires,
Yass.
