The biggest story to come out of the registration period is that the reigning A-grade ladies champions, Jinxed, will this year compete against the men.
Having barely been pushed in the last few years, the team featuring players such as Lisa Smith and Bron Pollack will test themselves against their male counterparts.
President of Yass Touch, Greg Smith, said it was a very positive move.
"Because we've got our own competition we don't have to follow NSW Touch rules and they want to stay together but they've been too good for the women's competition for quite some time, so they wanted to challenge themselves," he said.
"They've never really had to get out of second gear and they'll beat a lot of men's sides and even push some of the A and B-grade teams."
Some of the women in Jinxed will also split up into the junior girls teams to help with their development.
"Yeah that's a great thing and a lot of the credit goes to Ben [Wylie] and Mary Jane [Fernandez] for the work they're doing to make it happen.
"The young girls will learn a lot from those experienced players."
There will be 12 teams in the women's and 24 in the men's (including Jinxed). The big out this year, is the disbandment of regular men's A-graders 'Hotsteppers', who folded due to a lack of numbers.
Smith said the online registration has already saved plenty of headaches.
"Yeah about 80 per cent of players have already paid their rego. By this stage last year we wouldn't have had anyone paid up so it makes things a lot easier," he said.
"By the 22nd, Bob [Monkley] and I expect just about everyone to have paid up and that will save us chasing players, which sometimes keeps us busy until Christmas."
This year a table will be set up at the scoreboard tower at Walker Park, which will have sign on sheets for each team. Every player just has to sign once for both games, so Smith encourages teams to give themselves plenty of time before their first game.
The draw will be in the Tribune every Wednesday as per usual unless Smith can provide a three week draw in advance, as is the plan.
