Two chainsaws have been stolen from a garage at a Dalton address on Gunning Road. This follows the theft of three chainsaws from the Manton Fire Brigade two weeks ago. The latest robbery took place sometime between Thursday October 9 and Friday October 17. Police are asking for assistance. Resisting police
A 26-year-old Yass man was charged with assault, resisting police and offensive language at 11pm on Friday October 17, on the corner of Comur and Meehan Streets.
Car-jacking
Three males (19-year-old from Corringal, 18-year-old from Watson and 18-year-old from Bonner) were stopped by police on the Hume Highway near Yass for failing to pay for their fuel at Gundagai. It was then established that the vehicle was taken in a car-jacking at Wagga Wagga. The men were arrested and charged with aggravated assault with intent to take and drive motor vehicle in company with stealing a motor vehicle.
Refusing to leave
A 27-year-old Yass man has been issued with a criminal infringement notice after failing to leave a licensed venue and using offensive language at 11pm on Friday October 17 on Comur Street. He was fined a total of $1000.
Suspended driver
On October 4 at 1.40pm, highway police stopped a vehicle on Murrumbateman Road after it was recorded travelling at 91km in a 70km zone. The 28-year-old driver was also found to have a suspended licence. Charges pending.
