In the A-grade Sam Porter is leading by a good margin, leaving the nearest challengers a dozen shots to make up, but you never know what can happen in two rounds of golf.
The B-grade Championships is a much closer affair after Bernie Puckett dropped a few shots after his ripper round last week, leading now by only two shots. It is open for many a contender in the final rounds. The C-grade lead has changed with George Manson producing an excellent 84 to jump in front by six shots, but there will be plenty of challengers in the final two rounds. This Saturday and Sunday are the final rounds of the Championships, so good luck once again to all competing. There will be a presentation concluding the Sunday round, around 5.30pm, so it would be great to see a good crowd to congratulate this year’s winners.

Dad’s Army report for October 16.
It was a bit nippy for the 11 troops when they hit the fairways in the Dad's Army competition last week but it turned out to be fairly good for golf as the morning progressed. Scoring was close at the top with a count back needed to find the winner and it was "Down the Middle" Doug Oldfield's 16 points that won him the money from Rod Perceval, while yet another count back was necessary to get the other ball that went to Kevin Mann with 15 points. Scoring ranged from 16 down to nine points. Good golfing "boys" until next week.
