Scott Eulenstein, who has been working as a casual coach in Canberra, could be the man for the job.
He was qualified with Tennis Australia in Victoria and has been based in the capital for the last four years studying a Sports Management Degree at the University of Canberra.
He believes becoming a coach in Yass will be good for his career, but will also be great for the town.
"I think it will be good to get more experience... and I see Yass as an ideal opportunity and a unique place to work," he said.
"It's disappointing that not much junior tennis is happening there at the moment but tennis is great because it provides opportunities both socially and competitively... and it requires such a unique skill set," he told the Tribune.
Eulenstein is in the process of approaching schools around Yass and hopes, if he can garner enough interest, to set up a six-week program which will be completed by Christmas.
"At the moment I'm focusing on getting the juniors involved but I am more than open to coaching more experienced players and adults if it's something people want."
He said if he can't get enough interest from schools this year, he will definitely kick something off in 2015.
Hume Tennis Club president David Thornley said he's excited about the prospect of having Eulenstein in Yass.
"It's something we are really missing and will only do good things for us and the development of juniors especially.
"I think it's pretty important that a town the size of Yass has a committed tennis coach."
