Vice president of the Yass Rodeo sub-committee Dale Polsen said there were a number of reasons why the all-day event at the Yass Showground was so sought-after.
"It has been spoken about as having one of the best arenas, with one of the best rodeo surfaces in NSW," he said.
"Stock performs well here and there's always positive feedback.
"It's also well positioned before a rodeo in Sydney on Sunday so a lot of competitors will come to Yass first."
Polsen, who has been involved with the Yass Rodeo for more than 20 years, said the committe was not resting on its laurels.
"We are continually looking at ways to improve the event and make it more enjoyable for the stock, spectators and competitors."
It's a full points ABCRA rodeo with all the regular events, so will attract some of the best riders in the country.
Amongst those will be a number of locals including Clay Bush, Tim Davis, Elle Hamilton, Corey Miles and Steve Bush. While Richard and George Hempenstall will again be providing bulls for the toughest sport on dirt.
"We've also got comedy clown 'Big Al' [Wilson] to keep the crowd entertained, a bar (strictly no BYO), a canteen, a mechanical bull and a number of different stalls," Polsen continued.
It begins at midday with the main performance scheduled for 6pm. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children and can be bought at the showground gate. For more information you can contact Deb Scanes on 0421 849 094.
