Miracle on 34th Street is playing on December 1 at 10.30am. It's a 1947 Christmas film written and directed by George Seaton and based on a story by Valentine Davies. It stars Maureen O'Hara, John Payne, Natalie Wood and Edmund Gwenn. The story takes place between Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day in New York City, and focuses on the impact of a department store Santa Claus who claims to be the real Santa.
Parents should always try and make literacy a part of their child's everyday life. At least 10 minutes a day shared reading time is recommended. That can include:
*Singing songs at bath time;
*Reading food labels together;
*Reading their favourite story, over and over again;
*Cooking and reading recipes.
Parents should also read a lot to demonstrate how fun it really is.
