What the Catholic Church needs is a black female pope, it would change the world forever. What the Catholic Church does not need is for Mount Carmel to close its doors to students wanting to complete their HSC.

The decision taken over Mount Carmel is appalling to say the least. Some agenda item has not been put on the table, something is missing. We all know that there is another hidden agenda. The Archdiocese will spend millions and millions and millions of dollars to build themselves a Babylon in Canberra but ignore the long tradition of private catholic education in a country town. The church says “it’s ok” that school children travel an hour each way to go to school in Canberra although there is a beautiful school building right in the heart of Yass. The church says it’s not viable to extend schooling beyond year 10 although there is only a miserable amount of money required to keep this school running to a HSC level. But that is simply too much for the archbishop to spend. They do not want this to go ahead at any price, they want something else, what is it?
My nephew and his wife send their children to Mount Carmel, they would like to continue to send their children to Mount Carmel until they have their HSC qualifications, they can’t now, that choice has been denied to them. The Greens support free education for everybody including university.

What a world of difference there can be between two leaders. On one hand we have our own Liberal Prime Minister Tony Abbott talking on a world stage and the only thing he can say is that he cannot get his $7 dollar rebate scheme through the Senate [an upfront GP fee] and complain about the massively difficult task of bringing in higher university costs. On the other hand you have a Yankee President, Obama, visionary, saying it is critical that the world attack climate change and act to do something about it and it is critical that Australia take part, not bury it’s head in the sand which is what this heartless Liberal government is doing.
Prime Minister, climate change is difficult and it’s massive.
