The defibrillator was purchased with the funds raised by the Yass Valley Youth Council earlier in the year with Yass Valley Council covering the remaining cost.
Yass Pool lifeguard Allex Goode said it ias a welcome addition to the safety equipment at the pool.
“As a trainee paramedic I understand that there is huge benefit in having such a life-saving piece of equipment on hand in case of emergency. It will help make our pool a safer place for swimmers and visitors - although of course we hope we don’t have to use it anytime soon.’ he said.
The defibrillator has been purchased to coincide with the start of the swimming season.
