With a full card of fights and full capacity of spectators, the Yass Fight Night was very well received.
As a result Fight For Life Promotions and the Monaro Fight Circuit will return to the Soldiers Club on Saturday night for Yass Fight Night MFC 14.
The main event between Peter Ellis and Matt Walker for the Australian K1 Middleweight title is set to be brutal but it is again the local fighters that are really creating interest.
Justin Barton now has a record of two wins and a loss, and has to make the switch to straight boxing after organisers couldn't find a kickboxer to pit him against.
"Yeah so I'm not really sure what to expect," Barton told the Tribune.
"I don't know anything about the guy I'm fighting but I've been training hard so hopefully I can get the win."
Barton explained that he has been training six days a week for about a month and has had to adjust his regime under the guidance of trainer and former Light Heavyweight Kickboxing Champion Peter Foster.
"With boxing it's all about movement. You have to stay on your toes and keep punching, you can't break things up with a kick so we've been working hard on that."
About 50 tickets have been snapped up by Barton's family and friends and he expects a packed house.
"It's something different on a Saturday night that everyone can get into and if it's anything like last year it'll be a really good atmosphere."
The other local fighter is Jack Bush, who according to Barton, hasn't shown the same dedication to training but should go well.
"Nah he doesn't do six days a week, he's a bit more lazy when it comes to training," he laughed.
Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start and tickets can be purchased from the Soldiers Club and Sonic Fitness. Prices range from a $900 corporate table of six to $40 general admission. For table bookings and ticket information contact Shane on 0435 413 459.
