Junita Vanderbulk from B & V Engineering said that part of the money raised was from a raffle where she supplied prizes from her supplier, Wrangler.
The rodeo committee is a sub-committee of Yass Show Society, they were successful in raising the funds through the raffle and also by passing around of a hat at the Yass Rodeo last year.
Deb Scanes said she was thrilled with the efforts of the community in giving to such a great cause.
“We were also able to come up with an extra $2000 which raised the funds to $7000. The money we've raised so far over the last two years for Can Assist is over $20,000,” she said.
“The funds from this years Rodeo in October will be given to Mel Callow and her family.”
Cheryl Scorgie from Can Assist thanked both Junita and Pete for their help and support over the last few years.
