A brand new Envy scooter was stolen from outside the Yass Library on Wednesday January 21. The scooter went missing between 10am and 12.30pm. Anyone with information is urged to contact Yass Police on 6226 9399.

An 83-year-old man had a large amount of cash taken from his pocket at about 12.30pm on January 20. The man was leaving a shop on Laidlaw Street when he was approached by two young persons. They began talking to the man, distracted him and took the cash from his pocket. The juveniles have been found and Yass Police will take further action. The cash has not been retrieved.
A 25-year-old Yass man stole coke and a bottle of bourbon from Aldi at about 2.50pm on January 22. Staff followed the man outside the shop, contacted Yass Police who located him immediately. He was issued with a criminal infringement notice.
Murrumbateman Transfer Station
A break and enter occurred at the Murrumbateman Transfer Station sometime between 5pm on Wednesday January 21 and 9am Thursday January 22.
Unknown person/s cut the lock of the front gate, then went to a shipping container and cut the padlock off that. The offender/s then took two 20-litre jerry cans of diesel fuel. Police are continuing their investigations.
Laidlaw Street residence
A property on Laidlaw Street was broken into sometime between 12pm Sunday and 8.30am Monday. The offender/s gained access by removing the fly screen and opening the window. They then ransacked the property, opening cupboards and drawers, and stole several items of clothing.
Shed targeted
A saddle was taken from a shed sometime between Saturday January 10 and 8.30am Tuesday. The shed is located on a property on Berrebangalo Road, Yass River, and along with the saddle, a trolley was stolen. Anyone with information should contact Yass Police.
A council garbage bin was set on fire at about 2pm last Saturday on Comur Street.
The bin was located near the Club House Hotel.
Attempts to take money from the Yass Showground 'Honesty Tin' proved unsuccessful sometime between 3pm Friday January 16 and Tuesday January 20.
The person/s did, however, damage the tin. The tin was also targeted in December last year but police aren't sure whether the offences are related. Anyone with information should contact Yass Police.
Reflective house numbers were stolen from a property on Comur Street sometime between 8pm Thursday January 22 and 8am Saturday January 24. They were attached to the front fence brickwork when they were taken. The offender/s also tried to take the home's hose reel but were unsuccessful.
A man drove away from the Yass Service Centre without paying for $45.45 worth of fuel on Tuesday at 9pm.
Believed to be in his 30s, the man was driving a blue Ford Focus with Western Australia number plates.
He was wearing a singlet top, had short hair and was heavily tattooed.
A clothesline was knocked down on a property in Yeo Crescent and concrete foundations were disrupted sometime between 4pm Friday January 23 and 7.30am Saturday January 24.
The owner was away from the residence at the time of the offence. If anyone witnessed any suspicious activity in the area that may assist in identifying those responsible they should contact Yass Police.
