I'm sure that many of your readers receive generic e-mails from our local Federal member, Angus Taylor, and these are often published in The Yass Tribune and The Goulburn Post and, as one would expect, they elucidate the official Liberal Party point of view.

Angus claims that he will respond to his e-mails to us but he seems to think that by this impersonal medium he is reporting back to his electorate - but we never hear from him.
This is most unsatisfactory as he should realise that not all his constituents are Liberal Party supporters and that, when he speaks in Parliament or votes, he should be reminded that he has an obligation to consider the feelings and views of the whole of his electorate.
Angus Taylor may well argue that he was elected by a majority of the electorate in 2013, which at that time was so, but now the climate of politics has obviously altered and the election results in Victoria and Queensland and the fact that Prime Minister Abbott has faced the possibility of a spill in the Liberal Party indicates that 'the times may be a'changing'.
One would have doubts that the Labor Party is a viable alternative and that Bill Shorten might be an alternative Prime Minister but, even with the political irresponsibility which caused them to lose to Abbott and his Liberals, they would seem to be better than the ships of fools who are steering Titanic/Liberal Party.
Don't be too smug, Angus, there are many in your electorate who feel that you are disenfranchising them.
PS. I'm delighted to advise that I have since received a very gracious phone call from Angus Taylor and we used this as an opportunity to discuss a number of issues that I have raised with him
