The Rams head coach Ian MacFarlane is happy with the number of keen players who have attended the early training runs. He said the numbers are greater than at the same time last season and he is confident the club can provide two competitive teams for the upcoming season. There is a combination of players from last season, players returning to the club after a short absence and new players.

The early training runs are focussing on fitness, but will gradually work towards ball and skills training. The fitness levels will be tested when the Rams play a trial game against Cootamundra on Saturday March 14 at Cootamundra. This will be followed by the Monaro Pre Season Tournament held at ADFA/RMC on March 28. Coach MacFarlane is hoping he can use this tournament to try new combinations and settle on his first grade squad.
The season will start on April 11, with a home game against Hall. The committee has planned for this opening round to be our ‘Sponsors Day’. It will be a great way start the new season.
Season launch: Don’t forget the Rams season launch tomorrow evening at the Yass Bowling Club, commencing at 4pm with a game of barefoot bowls. This will be followed at 6pm with dinner and the official launch.
