Fifteen revellers were charged with possessing a series of different drugs, including ecstasy, cocaine, LSD, speed, and marijuana. One person was charged with supplying drugs.
Police also issued 25 warnings to festival revellers for marijuana possession.
More than 24,000 people attended the first day of the two-day festival which started on Saturday at Sydney Olympic Park. Organisers expect the same number of people to attend on Sunday.
The rock, metal and punk event featured acts such as Marilyn Manson, Soundgarden, Steel Panther and The Smashing Pumpkins.
Meanwhile, 60 people were found to be in possession of illicit drugs at the Future Music Festival held at Randwick Racecourse on Saturday.
At the Secret Garden Music Festival in Camden, police charged 16 people with possessing ecstasy, cocaine, LSD and marijuana and issued 17 marijuana warnings.
The wave of music festivals continues in Sydney with the Goodlife under-18 festival replacing the Future Music Festival at Randwick Racecourse on Sunday.
