Sunday was the fifth round of the ACT Monaro DGA pennants competition, with Yass A Reserve side having a win over Yowani 3.5 to 2.5. There 5.5 to 0.5 win over Gold Creek 2 the previous weekend leaves them equal top on the ladder and makes them the first Yass team to head into the semi-final this weekend at Gungahlin, against Murrumbidgee.

The B Scratch side are sitting nicely in third spot, after a 4.5 to 1.5 win over Belconnen. They take on Gungahlin Lakes at Murrumbidgee this Sunday in their penultimate round.
In the B Handicap the boys have a must-win game against Gungahlin Lakes at home if they are to make the finals, after having two squared matches in the last two rounds. They drew with Goulburn at home last Sunday and against Belconnen at Belconnen the previous Sunday.
The Junior side had a 3.5 to 2.5 win over Gungahlin Lakes at Federal last Sunday to make their way through to the finals which start March 15. Well done boys.
The Seniors Master Handicap side are sitting pretty on top of their division ladder with four wins, one draw and no losses after a win over RMC last Thursday - 3.5 to 2.5. This Thursday they have taken on Yowani 1 at Belconnen and hopefully have kept their undefeated status. So good luck to all the Yass players this weekend, and especially to the A reserve boys playing at Gungahlin Lakes.
In Saturday’s Stableford event it was the in-form John Heggart who came in with another big score to add to his list this year, with 44 points to win the A-grade money. Tony Bayley also added another plus 40 to his list, with his 41 points winning him the B-grade competition. Meanwhile, John Watt picked up the C grade with his 40 points.
In Sunday’s Stableford competition, Peter Ellis picked up the prize with his 40 points on a count back from Matt Townsend.
This Saturday is the On Trend Clothing sponsored Guzzlers Mug Event, which is the final time to qualify for a shot at this year’s Guzzler of Guzzlers 2015, with the event taking place in the April Guzzlers event, so why not come along and try your luck.

The Australian Hotel nearest the pins went to Roland Camons on theeighth and Robby Furner on the 16th. The Yass Valley Tyre Service 11th went Wilbur Whyte and the Mick Curtis sponsored fourth also went to Wilbur Whyte.
Sunday March 1: Stableford Event
Winner: Peter Ellis (19) 40 points ocb. Ball winners: P Ellis, Matt Townsend 40, R Bateup 38 and M Walker 35 points ocb. The nearest the pins on the 16th went to Matt Townsend.
Dad’s Army competition for February 26
It was another great morning for the 13 troops in the Dad's Army competition, to stroll around the Worth Street course last week. It took a three way count back to decide the winner and Clive ‘The Wallaroo Connection’ Phillips received the nod and claimed the money from Bernie Puckett and Les Puckett, who all carded 18 points and collected a ball each. Doug Oldfield, with 16 points, claimed the last of the balls on offer. Scoring ranged from 18 to 10 points.

Business House competition to February 27
Winners; A-grade: Dom Carmody (5.5) 30.5 nett. B-grade: Ted Maher (9.5) 24.5 nett. C-grade: Shirley Williamson (19) 28 nett. Ball winners went from 25.5 to 32 nett ocb. In the team’s event the ladder shows; Green Division: Bateup’s Carpentry 26, Elders 16, YGC Cricket 16, Murra Mongrels 14 and Dad’s & Lad’s 9 points. Yellow Division: B&V 23.5, Davis Faulkner 18, Mac’s Mob 13, Bernie’s Boys 13 and Golden Girls 9.5 points. Orange Division: Transformers 28, Fisho’s 21, The Tradie’s 17, Shire Boys 8, Oh Nine 2 and the Putting Pirates 1 point.
