Give your brain cells a workout with the Trivia competition, dust off those dancing shoes to boogie the night away with a live band and pick up some fantastic items at the auction.

Delicious finger food will be served through the night to complement your BYOG refreshments. Tickets are $30pp, with teams of up to a maximum of 10 people per table. Tickets are available by emailing gunningrfs@gmail.com or the Gunning Butcher (no tickets at the door). 

The Gunning/Fish River Trivia Night fund raiser is really shaping up to be the social event of the year for adults (18 and over). Invite your friends from the big smoke and show them how we kick up our heels in the bush!

If your car needs a wash and vacuum, then head on down to the Gunning Servo this Saturday between 9am and 3pm and let local scouts give it the business. Support our local kids and turn your car from grotty to great! Information is available from Bernie Boyce 0414 714 562.

“A big thank you to the community for getting behind the 113th Annual Show” said Kelly Dowling, Gunning PA&I Society President. She noted that the show was a huge success, as was the Gunning Trots.

Kelly thanked local Fire Brigades for manning the gates. The various working bees were admirably complemented by the commitment of Council staff that made the showground a picture.

Sponsorship from local businesses has been fantastic making the Gunning Show great value for money, with so many free activities for families and kids. Finally Kelly thanked her fellow committee members for their drive and strength.

The winner of the coveted Claude Dunn Memorial Supreme Champion Hack of the Show went to 'Showman' ridden by Ms T Wells.  

Aleira Plath, with her horse 'Rowlee Ranger', won the keenly contested Frank Hallam & Sons Memorial Trophy in the sporting arena.

The Novice Yard Dog competition was won by Chris Sherwood and 'Budge' on 189 points. The Open Draw Yard Dog showed a clear winner in Kevin Howell with 'Abba' on 184 points.

Roadworks

Those who have been advocating that the road between Dalton and Jerrawa needed some urgent attention will be pleased that work is now in progress there. There are many blind corners and crests on this road, with only a narrow strip of bitumen.

Remembrance at Greendale

All are welcome at a Candlelight Remembrance Service to be held at 5pm on Saturday March 28 at Greendale Uniting Church, as a tribute and to remember the pioneers and loved ones who have their final resting place at Greendale.
