Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has urged NSW Labor to ignore those who dismiss its chances of snatching power at this month's election, saying her shock win shows "it can be done".

A beaming Ms Palaszczuk greeted the party's true believers on Friday at Banora Point, in one of three north coast seats Labor believes it can win despite the Nationals sitting on whopping margins of 20 per cent or more.

Continuing Labor leader Luke Foley's attempt on Thursday to link the two campaigns, Ms Palaszczuk said NSW Premier Mike Baird and former Queensland Premier Campbell Newman shared "many similarities".

"There are so many things that they have in common. Their ideological agendas, their profits-before-people mentality, their cuts to schools and hospitals, their neglect of TAFE and, of course, their close alignment to [Prime Minister] Tony Abbott," she said.

The most striking parallel, Ms Palaszczuk said, was "their obsessions with privatisation".

"When will [the Liberal-Nationals] acknowledge the clear and simple fact: people do not want their electricity network sold," she said.

"In Queensland we saw what happens when a government thinks it can arrogantly impose on voters a decision people don't like and simply do not want."

Ms Palaszczuk told Labor hopefuls to ignore those who say a win is out of their grasp "because I am here to tell you it can be done".

In January she took the Queensland Labor Party from a lowly seven seats in an 89-seat parliament to forming government.

"I was told that in 2015 we should just settle on winning back some safe Labor seats … I was told the swing was far too high to even comprehend winning government," she said.

"But I stand here today as living proof the pessimists got it wrong, and we got it right. … it can happen here in NSW as well."

Mr Foley addressed the crowd, continuing a bevy of election promises that began earlier in the day when he pledged $211 million pledge to redevelop Tweed Hospital if elected this month.

He promised $90 million for Lismore Hospital, $30 million for schools in Ballina and $177 million for a second bridge over the Clarence River at Grafton.

He said the people of NSW could repeat the Queensland election result, and reject the Baird government's privatisation plans.

Mr Baird wants to partially lease the poles and wires to raise $20 billion for roads, rail and other infrastructure. Labor wants to keep the assets in public hands.

"This is a time when people are looking for change ... this is a time when people are looking for a new approach," he said.

It was the second day of the party's whistlestop tour of the north coast, where it hopes to snatch the seats of Tweed, Ballina and Lismore. Labor believes public disquiet over coal seam gas an electricity privatisation gives the party a fighting chance in the seats.

Labor's promised upgrades to Tweed Hospital include improving the emergency department, and creating up to 162 extra beds in specialist units, wards and renal dialysis.

Health Minister Jillian Skinner said Labor cannot be trusted to deliver the redevelopment, claiming the party's track record shows it "says one thing before the election and does another after the election".

Mr Foley disembarked the campaign bus outside Tweed Hospital and posed beside a conveniently placed government attack ad on the side of a bus shelter. The Labor ad featured a photo of Premier Mike Baird, and warned the state's electricity network was "gone for good" under his leadership.

The government announced on Friday it has cancelled a coal seam gas exploration licence covering a large part of the Sydney Basin in an apparent effort to nullify the issue before the election later this month.

The government has said it is cleaning up the "mess" Labor left behind when it issued gas licences across the state, adding its gas plan has reduced the area covered by exploration licences to 15 per cent of NSW.

Labor says it has since listened to the community and revised its policy, which includes a statewide coal seam gas moratorium and a permanent ban in the Northern Rivers region.

Mr Foley on Friday said the government was "playing catch up on coal seam gas".

"Mike Baird and [Nationals leader] Troy Grant stood up three months ago to announce their pro-gas plan for NSW, and now we are coming down the home straight to election day and they are finally starting to hear that the people aren't keen on their … policy," he said.

The government's coal seam gas announcement followed a string of law-and-order announcements this week, including statements by Mr Grant supporting forced chemical castration of paedophiles.

Mr Foley said the government was "desperate to shift the focus away from their signature policy to privatise the state's electricity network".

"We've had three days of law and order [announcements and] wide ranging, discursive off- the-top-of-the-head utterances from Troy Grant about castration. They are just desperate to talk about anything else except their signature policy," Mr Foley said.
