Ms Goward said the major upgrade would include more street parking, upgraded public toilets, pedestrian crossing, signage, as well as CCTV and lighting to improve safety.
“These improvements will make it easier to catch public transport, particularly for customers with a disability, the elderly and parents with prams,” Ms Goward said.
“One of our main priorities as a government is to encourage people all over NSW to use public transport, and by improving our interchanges we know customers are more likely to want to jump on a train or coach."
Ms Goward said she was also pleased to announce a construction tender is about to be awarded for improvements to Yass Junction train station.
“The station improvements will complement the major upgrade at the interchange and include a new ramp, footpaths, better lighting and accessible parking spaces for customers with a disability.
Construction will start as soon as possible, with work expected to be completed later this year.
