This week is the qualifying round for the four-ball Luff Cup, with the top 16 pairs going into the draw for Fourball Matchplay. Incorporated into the event is the Club qualifying event for the NSW Men’s Fourball Championship with the top two pairs going through to the district final.
The Pennant season wraps up this Sunday, with the last of the finals being played. On Thursday past the Senior Handicap side would have played in the Final at Gold Creek against Braidwood, after the Yass Seniors side had an impressive 6-1 win over Gungahlin Lakes to make the final. In the last of the finals the B Scratch side are playing at Federal against Belconnen on Sunday. They qualified by beating Gungahlin Lakes 4.5-2.5 last weekend. After the success of the A Reserve side winning their flag, hopefully that will spur all on to bring home a couple more, so good luck to both sides. The results of both pennant competitions will be posted on Facebook and the YGC Website as soon as they come through. There will be live music as entertainment throughout the evening.

Dad’s Army competition for March 19
Only ten troops took to the fairways in the Dad's Army Competition last week on what was a glorious morning for golf. With the course drying out scores were on the low side as Rod ‘Plucker’ Perceval's 18 points was enough to win him the money and a three way count back was warranted to sort out the two players to receive a ball each from the three that had 16 points and they were Ken Reidy and Joe Morrissey. Scoring ranged from 18 to 10 points. Starting time will go back to 8.30am on the Thursday after Easter. The qualifying rounds for the Dad's Army Championships commence on the first Thursday in April.
