The Tribe Hotel in Nairobi. The decoration was really special with a lot of light and artwork. I fell in love with the beautiful Persian rug in my room. I wanted to bring it back with me in New York, but I heard that was not an option. See tribe-hotel.com. 

AIRLINE 

My travels on Singapore Airlines have been great, from the way they welcome you at the airport to the service in the plane. And you eat when you want. For long-haul flights, it is the best for me.


RESORT 

GoldenEye resort in Oracabessa Bay, Jamaica. It was built around the incredible old house of (007 author) Ian Fleming and was created by Island Records founder, Chris Blackwell. It is a little piece of paradise on earth, next to the sea and a beautiful lagoon. There is good music at the Bizot Bar, celebrating the memory of the creator of the famous Radio Nova in Paris. LUGGAGE 

I have to admit I don't travel light. My husband always complains because he is the one who has to carry all my suitcases. But I'm an artist, he should understand. For suitcases, I always try to buy strong ones as I travel so much, and they don't last. I like Samsonite and Tumi. Four wheels are a must for me.

ACCESSORY  

I always carry with me a portable air humidifier. Hotel rooms are always so dry, same thing with airplanes. This is not good for the vocal cords of singers. So, as soon as I enter my hotel room, I plug it in and let the nice cool mist spread all over the place. 

NEXT ADVENTURE 

I tour so much all over the world that my life is always an adventure, a good one when everything is smooth, a tough one when flights are delayed and you miss connections. In January I missed my Crystal Award ceremony at Davos because my flight was struck twice by lightning. Thankfully the World Economic Forum forgave me for being late and gave the award the next day.
